Our Slow Slide Toward Socialism Really Won't Be Good for Most Americans

A number of polls over the past few years show socialism gaining favor among many Americans.  A growing percentage in those polls cite socialism as favorable over America's capitalistic system.

This is disturbing, and evidence of a significant lack of historical understanding when it comes to countries devolving into socialist - or worse - government structures.

It isn't too hard for those with an unbiased view to see America is on a dangerous path, lured by the siren song of equity for all.  History shows that's not how it ends up.

Read the piece "Socialism Isn't About Creating Economies.  It is About Amassing Political Power" by Ovidiu Tanjala for a brief historical look at socialism in the Soviet Union and what the end result was.  Here's a tease...

"The Soviet economy existed to keep the Communist Party in power, and that was the sole criteria party leaders used to evaluate its performance. The “production” of political power was supreme, and anything else was secondary, subordinated to the main goal for the Soviet economy."
