A number of American Express credit cards are offering decent sign-up bonuses, but the gravy comes in the form of $200 statement credits at select U.S. home furnishing stores when the purchases are made within three months from card approval.

While home furnishing stores may sound somewhat limited, the eligible retailers are fairly broad.  They include:

Anthropologie - Home & Furniture, Bed Bath & Beyond, CB2, Crate and Barrel, Crate and Kids, The Home Depot, Lowe's, Terrain, and The Container Store.

Unfortunately, only referral links appear to be offering the $200 statement credit, which means if you find a better cash or points sign-up bonus outside of a referral link, you likely won't get the $200 statement credit.

As I always state with Amex cards, be sure to check multiple credit card links, including the main American Express credit card site to see what's being offered.

As an example, the American Express Gold Card is showing a sign-up bonus of 60,000 Membership Rewards points (plus the $200 home furnishings statement credit) via my referral link.

However, there's a 75,000 MR point sign-up bonus offer available on the Gold Card, you just have to hunt for it.  Which may include trying different browsers, clearing a browser's cache, using incognito mode on a browser, and even trying the same link multiple times to see if a different offer appears.

And this should be done with the main American Express credit card page links and referral links.

Remember, with American Express, you (usually) only get a sign-up bonus one time for a specific card, so you want it to be the best bonus available when you're ready to apply.

And, as an example, I just tried the main American Express credit card site linked above on a Chrome browser, and the 75,000 point Gold Card offer appeared (no $200 statement credit).  Luck?  Yep, since when I tried it a few minutes later on a different browser (Safari), it showed the 60,000 point offer for the Gold Card.

I didn't try it with the referral link on multiple browsers to see if the 75,000 point offer + the $200 statement credit would show...but I'd recommend you do that.
