Burger King is offering a free Whopper to those who come within 300 feet of one of its "Scary Places" which humorously are shuttered fast food competitors' locations.
The promo is best for tech savvy individuals...or those lucky enough to live near a Scary Place.
This promo runs now through October 31, 2020.
The free Whopper coupon that can be earned expires 11/3/2020, so you'll have to use it fast.
You must download the Burger King app and use it for the promo.

For purposes of this Promotion, Scary Places shall mean the abandoned restaurants located in the following addresses:
- 5196 Salem Ave, Dayton, OH 45426;
- 1602 Fm 1960 Rd W, Houston, TX 77090;
- 2408 Center Point Pkwy, Birmingham, AL 35215;
- 522 State Route 31 McHenry, IL, 60050; or
- 1350 Hartford Ave, Johnston, RI.
Get within 300 feet of one of the Scary Places either physically, or by spoofing your location (Android Guide [9to5google.com]) on your smartphone.
To qualify for the Promotion, participants must be 18+ and complete the following steps:
- Download and register on the BK® App;
- Go near the Scary Place (near 300 feet shall suffice) of one of the Scary Places selected for the Promotion; and
- Go to the Scary Places tile on the BK® App and click “I AM HERE.” Please note that if you have not allowed location data to be accessed by the BK® App, you will be prompted to do so. Location data access is required to be able to confirm you are near one of the Scary Places.
Participants that follow the above steps will receive a free original Whopper® sandwich coupon (“Coupon”) on the BK® App. Limit one per day/account. Coupon should appear within 30 minutes of completing the steps outlined above.
Yes, there are definitely steps to take to get a free Whopper - especially if you don't live near one of the Scary Places - but for some it might be a fun activity resulting in a free Whopper.
