Increased Bonuses on Chase Southwest Credit Cards Through July 14, 2021

Right now, Chase's Southwest Airlines co-branded credit cards are offering increased sign-up bonuses!  These bonuses aren't as high as the previous offers we published on these cards, but neither is the minimum spend requirement.

Chase Southwest Personal Cards

Chase Southwest Rapid Rewards Plus credit card - 65,000 Rapid Rewards points after $2,000 spend in 3 months, $69 annual fee

Chase Southwest Rapid Rewards Premier credit card - 65,000 Rapid Rewards points after $2,000 spend in 3 months, $99 annual fee

Chase Southwest Rapid Rewards Priority credit card - 65,000 Rapid Rewards points after $2,000 spend in 3 months, $149 annual fee

Keep in mind the Chase sign-up bonus rules associated with these cards..."This product is available to you if you do not have a current Southwest Rapid Rewards® Credit Card and have not received a new Cardmember bonus for this card in the past 24 months. This does not apply to Business Card and Employee Credit Card products."

This Chase Southwest personal cards sign-up bonus promotion ends 7/14/2021.

Chase Southwest Business Cards

Chase Southwest Rapid Rewards Performance Business credit card - 80,000 Rapid Rewards points after spending $5,000 in the first 3 months. $199 annual fee

Chase Southwest Rapid Rewards Premier Business credit card - 60,000 Rapid Rewards points after spending $3,000 in the first 3 months. $99 annual fee.

An end date for the business card bonuses is not listed.

If you are able to apply for a business card, and are not over Chase's 5/24 rule (approved for 5 or more credit card from any issuer within the last 24 months) then you may be able to easily earn the extremely valuable Southwest Airlines companion pass (need 125,000 Rapid Rewards points) with personal and business card applications thanks to these increased bonuses.

The minimum spend amount for these current bonuses isn't too bad...$5,000 if you wanted the full amount of points (125,000).

Unfortunately, right now isn't the ideal time to go for the Southwest Airlines Companion Pass via credit card sign-ups. That would be the latter part of a year, finishing the spend so points post close to January/February of the following year.  This strategy would give you the Companion Pass for the remainder of the year in which the points post and all of the following year.

But, for these sign-up deals, that's not an option.  Earning the full 125,000 Rapid Rewards points in mid-summer would give you the Pass for the remainder of 2021 and all of 2022.  Not bad, but not maximizing the Pass.

Still, the Companion Pass is a real money-saver when it comes to travel, even if you only have it for 1.5 years rather than almost 2.

Keep in mind...Chase, due to the pandemic and economic uncertainty, has been more strict with business card approvals.  That may be changing, but getting approved for a business credit card is still likely not as easy as it was pre-Covid.
