The deal:  Buy one grande or larger handcrafted beverage today, Wednesday, September 22, 2021, and get a coupon for a free drink good this weekend (September 25 or 26).  The coupon will supposedly be loaded to your account on Saturday, September 25.

Update: You must purchase your 9/22 handcrafted drink via mobile (app) order to get the free weekend drink. What's not exactly clear is if you have to order your grande handcrafted drink via the app (order ahead) - Yes - for the purchase today (9/22) to trigger the promotion.  Or, if a scan of the app will suffice.

Here are the promo's terms:

• On 9/22/2021, buy a grande or larger handcrafted drink at a participating store via mobile order and get a free drink.
• Free drink fulfilled as a coupon automatically loaded to your Starbucks^® Rewards account on 9/25/2021.
• Coupon valid from 9/25/2021–9/26/2021 at participating stores.
• Max coupon value $10 (you are responsible for any customizations exceeding this amount). 
• Not valid on purchases of hot brewed coffee or tea, Starbucks Reserve beverages, alcohol, or ready-to-drink beverages. 
• Cannot be combined with other offers or discounts. 
• Offer valid for one-time use.
• Coupon cannot be redeemed for alcoholic or ready-to-drink beverages.

Once you have your free drink coupon for this weekend, remember to tell the barista you want to apply the coupon when initially ordering your drink.

This deal is a bit restrictive, but if you usually buy a grande handcrafted beverage daily, might as well take advantage of this free drink promo if you have it available.
