THANKYOU POINTS
ThankYou points can be used in a variety of ways – redeeming for gift cards, Amazon purchases, etc.
But, the Citi Premier credit card also allows you to transfer points to travel partners, which opens up a variety of valuable redemption options.
Those who are savvy Miles and Points hobbyists can definitely find value in Citi’s transfer partners, the majority of which are foreign airlines. Most partners transfer at a rate of 1:1 – one ThankYou Point to one airline mile. And once transferred, can be used for award flights on those foreign airlines, or to book partner awards on U.S. airlines when the award pricing makes sense.
There’s only one U.S. carrier that is a direct ThankYou Points transfer partner, though, and that is JetBlue Airways. Which is why I mention ThankYou points being most valuable to those familiar with the more advanced practices of the miles and points hobby.
And the Choice Hotels and Wyndham Rewards hotel loyalty programs are also transfer partners which can benefit those who want to book award stays at those properties.
Depending on your miles/points knowledge level, the ThankYou points earned with the Premier sign-up bonus can be extremely valuable.
