Amazon the Current Front-Runner to Purchase the Rights to NFL Sunday Ticket
This is not directly related to DirecTV, but for those who stick with DTV just to have access to Sunday Ticket, it's something to watch.
With DirecTV's rights to Sunday Ticket ending after the 2022-23 season, the question is, what will happen? Most following this matter don't expect DirecTV to be able to compete financially for the Sunday Ticket rights once its contract ends.
And now this article from CNBC stating Amazon is the likely front-runner to acquire the NFL Sunday Ticket rights.
As more and more entertainment moves to streaming, I'd be extremely surprised if Sunday Ticket didn't end up on some streaming platform. And Amazon has some really deep pockets and a significant streaming platform already set up.
Guess we'll see. The bigger question is, would you stick with DirecTV if Sunday Ticket was gone?
