A Larger Number of Americans 65+ Are Working - a Positive or Negative?

According to a study by the Pew Research Center the number of working Americans, aged 65 and older, is increasing.

The study compared workers in 1987 and 2023.

Approximately 19% of Americans age 65 and older are working in 2023.

In 1987 the percentage of working Americans in that age cohort was roughly 11%.

And roughly 9% of Americans age 75 and up are employed.
