Earn Delta Airlines SkyMiles When You Shop Via Instacart Thanks to This New Partnership

Delta Airlines and Instacart, the online shopping/delivery platform, have teamed to allow Delta SkyMiles to be earned when you use the Instacart service.

Whether you’re having your items delivered, or you’re picking them up after an Instacart shopper has completed your order, every purchase will earn you SkyMiles.

I won’t get into the debate of whether it’s actually worth earning SkyMiles or not.

Basically, I view it as a slight extra bonus for those who use the Instacart platform for their shopping needs and have a Delta SkyMiles account. And for those with status on Delta Airlines, you can benefit a bit more.

Here’re the details on this new partnership.

Instacart and Delta Airlines Partnership

To take advantage of this promotion, you must link your Instacart and Delta SkyMiles account.

Linking accounts is fairly easy. Log in to your Instacart account, and search for the Special Offers section – it may be under the membership section.

Click the Redeem link and you’ll be shown a page for entering your SkyMiles number and last name.

If you’re not already an Instacart Express member, regular SkyMiles members, along with those holding Silver and Gold Medallion status will be given the opportunity to get a three-month complimentary Instacart Express membership.

Platinum and Diamond Medallion members can get a 12-month Instacart Express trial membership.

Of course, once the free trial period ends, you’ll be charged the $99 annual fee unless you cancel prior to the charge.

Instacart Express’s primary benefits include no delivery fees on orders over $35 and 5% back on all pickup orders. You can get all the info on Instacart Express at this link.

Or, you don’t have to choose an Instacart Express membership at all.

Once your accounts are linked, regular Instacart users will earn 1 Delta SkyMile for each $1 spent with Instacart.

If you’re an Instacart Express member, you’ll earn 1.5 SkyMiles for each $1 spent.

This won’t be a huge SkyMile earner for most, but it’s an easy way to add some miles here and there if you’re a somewhat regular Instacart user.

You can view the Delta SkyMiles article on this partnership at this link.

And log in to your Instacart account here to begin the account linking process.

What do you think, are you going to link your accounts to earn some extra SkyMiles?
