Earn Bonus Cash Back or Airline Miles on Your Last-Minute Online Shopping

It’s crunch time for holiday shoppers.

Depending on which retailer you’re buying from, you may still be able to get guaranteed Christmas arrival without paying a fortune. But time is quickly running out.

And the shopping portals know that, and are making a push to get you to buy through them with varying bonus promotions.

Here are the few we’re aware of…let us know in the comment section if there are others we’ve missed.

Rakuten

Get up to 10% cash back (or 10x American Express Membership Rewards points if that’s your preference) when you shop through the Rakuten site.

If you’re new to Rakuten, you can sign up with our referral link and you’ll receive an extra $10 cash back over and above what you’ll earn just from shopping after you spend at least $25.

This Rakuten up to 10% cash back promo is today, December 16, 2019, only. Although they may run another promotion or two in the coming days.

You can check the current cash back earning rates at the link below.

Airline Shopping Portals

United, American and Alaska are all offering bonus miles for last-minute holiday spend.

Each airline bonus promotion ends on December 22. So make sure you meet the minimum spend amount prior to that date.

And remember, with all of these airline shopping portal bonuses, the minimum spend amount excludes shipping and handling charges as well as taxes. So make sure your base purchase amounts hit the minimum spend required to get the bonus.

Here are the promotions for each airline.

United

Earn 500 bonus miles when you spend $200

American

  • Earn 500 bonus miles when you spend $150
  • Earn 2,000 bonus miles when you spend $500

Alaska

Earn 500 bonus miles when you spend $200

Neither Southwest nor Delta are showing any bonus offers on their shopping portals at this time. That may change, so if you prefer to earn Rapid Rewards points or SkyMiles, give those shopping portals a look in the next few days.

And remember, to earn airline shopping portal bonuses, the minimum spend amount is based on cumulative spend prior to the end date. Which means you don’t have to spend the full minimum amount in one purchase.

Happy Shopping!
