DirecTV Subscribers Watch HBO and Cinemax for Free
DirecTV – and other cable and satellite providers, it seems – are offering a free preview of HBO and Cinemax now through Monday, July 9, 2018.
All you need to do to take advantage of the free HBO and Cinemax preview is click to your specific provider’s premium channels section and enjoy.
For DirecTV, that would be channels 501 – 511 for HBO and channels 515 – 523 for Cinemax.

These free previews usually correspond with a new show’s premier, and this free preview is no exception.
HBO is premiering its new show Sharp Objects Sunday, July 8, at 9:00 p.m.
And it’s also premiering the movie Justice League Saturday at 8:00 p.m.
Of course, HBO, and the pay-TV provider are hoping you’ll get hooked and subscribe to the premium channel long-term.
A Cheaper Alternative
If you do get hooked on Sharp Objects, or just want to enjoy some of the offerings HBO has longer than this weekend’s preview, consider HBO Now as an alternative.
It’s usually a few dollars a month less than what your cable or satellite provider will charge, and still gives you access to all the current movies, series, etc., as well as archived, on-demand shows HBO has in its catalog.
For first-time users of HBO Now, you can get a month of HBO programming free before being charged the regular $14.99 monthly fee.
For those unaware, HBO Now is a streaming service that can be watched on your computer, phone or tablet, gaming consoles or via a variety of streaming devices like Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, and more.
