Free viewing of HBO and Cinemax begins today, April 17, 2020, and runs through April 20, 2020.

All you need to do to take advantage of this free long weekend of premium channels is tune to channels 501-523 (may be different for some subscribers) and enjoy.

You should also be able to view the HBO/Cinemax channels via the DirecTV App and at directv.com if you’re using a mobile device.

If you have a DVR, you can record as many free preview programs as you like to watch at a later date.  Just because the free preview ends, doesn’t mean your recorded movies/shows go away.  Once recorded, you have them saved until you delete them.

Wrap Up

Enjoy all HBO and Cinemax have to offer this long weekend, absolutely free, thanks to DirecTV’s offering of free programming during the coronavirus pandemic.

While this post is specific to DirecTV, other pay-TV providers may be giving subscribers access to free channels, including this HBO/Cinemax freeview, too.

So if you know someone who isn’t a DirecTV subscriber, let them know they may be getting a free preview this weekend, as well.

And don’t forget to DVR free preview programs you want to see, but just don’t have the time to sit and watch this weekend, for your future viewing pleasure.
