Delta SkyMiles American Express Cards Offering Increased Sign-Up Bonuses Through March 29, 2023
|American Express is offering increased sign-up bonuses on all of its Delta SkyMiles credit cards.
So, if you want to build your SkyMiles balance, this might be a great opportunity.
However, be aware that while SkyMiles have always offered questionable value as compared to other airlines’ miles, recent devaluations have made SkyMiles even less appealing, especially for overseas, business and first-class redemptions.
Although, value can still be found for domestic, economy class travel.
And, Delta has just introduced a “sweetener” for Delta credit card holders that provides a 15% discount on the number of SkyMiles required to book award travel. This doesn’t completely make up for inflated award pricing, but it does help.
Here are the details on the current American Express Delta SkyMiles credit card bonuses. These increased bonuses are good through March 29, 2023.
DELTA SKYMILES CREDIT CARD SIGN-UP BONUSES
Before jumping on these sign-up bonuses, remember that American Express has one of the most strict sign-up bonus restrictions of all credit card issuers. If you’ve received the sign-up bonus for a specific card in the past, you will not be able to get the sign-up bonus again. There are exceptions; however, they’re typically targeted so you’d know if you could bypass this Amex rule.
Also, all three American Express Delta SkyMiles cards have business card versions that are considered separate products from the personal cards, allowing those who have a business or a “business” to receive the business card’s sign-up bonus even if he or she has received the personal card’s bonus in the past.

Referral Bonuses
Most credit cards, Delta SkyMiles Amex cards included, provide referral bonuses when a current cardholder provides a referral link to someone else who applies through that link and is approved. Bonus amounts vary by card. If you have a Delta Amex, offer interested friends/family your referral link so that you can earn bonus SkyMiles for their approvals. And, use someone else’s referral link if you’re applying for a new card to give them some extra miles or points.
This is our referral link for the Delta SkyMiles Gold American Express Card. The links in the above text are not referral links. Thank you if you use our link to apply.
Very Important Referral Bonus Detail – Referral links don’t always provide the best currently available sign-up bonuses. Always make sure the bonus you’re seeing from a referral link is the best advertised bonus before you apply. If it’s not the best, skip the referral link and go for the offer that’ll provide you the most points or miles.
Better Delta credit card offers?
You may be able to find better – depending on your view – sign-up bonuses on Delta SkyMiles cards – primarily the Gold SkyMiles card – by making a “dummy booking” for a Delta flight. Go through the booking process and when it comes to the payment page, you may be offered a larger sign-up bonus and/or a dollar-amount credit with a Delta purchase. Select “dummy booking” offers have been showing 50,000 SkyMiles after $3,000 spend in 3 months and a $300 statement credit after a Delta purchase on Gold cards. Of course, this isn’t guaranteed.
WRAP UP
All of the Delta SkyMiles credit cards are currently offering pretty nice sign-up bonuses.
The key, however, will come when you try to redeem those miles for actual travel. Exactly what will 80,000 SkyMiles get you?

I’d encourage you to do an award search on Delta.com to get an idea of what current awards to your destinations of choice are pricing at SkyMiles-wise. Considering award pricing is dynamic, changing regularly, it won’t provide a concrete idea of what a future trip might price out as, but it’ll give a general view, allowing you to decide if a Delta SkyMiles credit card is right for you.
You might find other travel rewards cards are a better option for your travel goals.
