Chase Offers for Your Local Grocery Stores – Most are Offering 10% Back as a Statement Credit
|It looks as though Chase credit card holders are receiving location-specific grocery store savings deals in their Chase Offers.
With grocery prices on the rise, this is an easy way to save on your next trip to the grocery store.
To see if these savings Offers are available to you, simply log in to your Chase credit card account(s) and check your Chase Offers.
Most Offers provide a 10% savings up to a certain dollar amount…$8, $10, maybe a little more seem to be the upper limits for these offers.
These grocery Offers appear to be good one time only. And, payment must be made directly with the merchant…so using Instacart may not trigger the savings. There are other restrictions, too, so check the Offer’s fine print before using.
If you have a number of Chase credit cards, you might find the grocery savings Offers on multiple cards…I did, but my favorite was on a less-than-year-old Freedom card.
Chase Freedom Cards and the Grocery Bonus Category
Right now, the best maximization of this savings Offer and points or cash back earning would be on Freedom cards that have an active sign-up bonus providing 5% back on grocery spend for the first year of card membership.
This sign-up bonus was offered last year for a brief period, and was reintroduced a few weeks ago for a limited time. If you’re interested in this sign-up bonus, you can get more details in our post on the topic here.
Grocery stores are the current Freedom/Freedom Flex bonus category (in addition to streaming services) for this quarter and the quarterly and 5% for a year sign-up bonus stack.
Which means, you’re earning 9% cash back (or 9x Ultimate Rewards points per dollar spent) on your grocery spend through the end of September.
Of course, if you don’t have a Freedom or Freedom Flex card with the 5%-back-on-groceries-for-a-year bonus, then you’ll earn the standard 5% back.
Add a grocery Chase Offer to that card and not only are you earning some nice cash back/UR points no matter which grocery bonus you have available, but you’re saving 10% on your grocery purchase, too.
Now that’s a nice deal.
While the Freedom cards help to maximize your grocery savings with these Offers, there are plenty of non-Freedom cards that have these grocery Offers waiting to be added.
So, check all your Chase cards and save on your next grocery shopping excursion(s).
