Chase Now Offering Instacart Credits on Sapphire and Freedom Credit Cards
|Chase is now offering Instacart credits on the Sapphire Reserve, Sapphire Preferred and the Freedom family of credit cards.
The exact credit depends on the credit card you hold.
And, while the credits aren’t overly exciting for most of the cards, they’re better than nothing if you use the Instacart service.
Below is the breakdown of the Instacart credits by card, as well as the current Instacart+ membership deal that’s also available for cardholders.
Chase Instacart Credits and Instacart+ Memberships
Chase Sapphire Reserve
- 12 months of Instacart+ free
- With an activated Instacart+ membership, up to $15 per month in statement credits on Instacart purchases
Chase Sapphire Preferred
- 6 months of Instacart+ free
- With an activated Instacart+ membership, up to $15 per quarter in statement credits on Instacart purchases
Chase Freedom, Freedom Flex, Freedom Unlimited and Freedom Student
- 3 months of Instacart+ free
- With an activated Instacart+ membership, up to $10 per quarter in statement credits on Instacart purchases
You can view the sign-up page on the Instacart site by using this link.
While it’s not completely clear, if you’ve already activated the free Instacart+ membership on your Chase card, you should automatically receive the appropriate credits associated with the Chase card you’re using going forward.
Some report having to cancel an already activated free Instacart+ membership and reactivating it to get the credit benefit to show. Not sure I’d do that until we know for sure how Chase is working the new credit addition to the Instacart benefit. Might cause more issues than fixes.
And, according to Chase…”You will continue to receive statement credit benefits regardless of whether or not you choose to cancel your Instacart+ membership at the end of your complimentary period.” Which is nice, I guess. Especially if you hold the Sapphire Reserve card that provides a bit more benefit.
The Instacart benefit for select Chase cardholders is not for everyone. But if you do use the Instacart service, especially at a store that does not increase pricing for Instacart purchases, and you use pickup instead of delivery, it can be a money and time-saver. Even more so now that some cards are offering a small credit on Instacart purchases.
What do you think? Nice benefit, or something you won’t bother with?
