Chase Freedom 2022 Second Quarter Bonus Categories – April Through June – are Amazon and Select Streaming Services
The 2022 second quarter bonus categories for the Chase Freedom and Freedom Flex credit cards are out and points/cash back earning for spend on those categories can be activated beginning today, March 15, 2022.

Freedom’s second-quarter bonus categories include:
- Amazon
- Select Streaming Services
All purchases made at these retailers earn 5% cash back – or my favorite, 5 Ultimate Rewards points per dollar spent – on up to $1,500 in combined purchases.
Bonus earnings in the bonus categories will begin April 1, 2022, and run through June 30, 2022.

How to Play This Quarter
Amazon
Obviously, if you regularly buy a lot of items from Amazon, you’ll save 5% on those purchases by using your Chase Freedom/Freedom Flex card as your payment method.
For select retailers, you can purchase gift cards from Amazon, effectively saving you 5% on whichever retailer’s gift card you buy.
Then use that gift card to make the purchase(s) you were going to make anyway.
An example – that I’ve used in the past – is to purchase Netflix egift cards and load those egift cards to my Netflix account to cover upcoming months of Netflix payments. Doing so with your Freedom card would effectively be saving you 5% on your Netflix subscription costs. Which would offset about 50% of Netflx’s most recent price increase – ugh.
And, as food prices continue to climb, there are a few grocery store gift cards that can be purchased on Amazon, as well as many restaurant gift cards that will offset, somewhat, the price increases you’re seeing.

Select Streaming Services
Many of us use at least one streaming service, and with the streaming services category, you can save 5% on the cost when you use your Freedom/Freedom Flex card to pay your monthly charge.
The streaming services category includes:
Apple Music, Apple TV+, Disney+, ESPN+, Fubo TV, HBO Max, Hulu, Netflix, Pandora, Paramount+, Peacock, Showtime, SiriusXM, Sling, Spotify, YouTube Premium, YouTube TV and Vudu.
For most streaming services, the 5% savings won’t be a huge discount. But, it definitely falls into the category of “better than nothing.”
Just change your streaming service’s payment method to the Freedom/Freedom Flex card and save April through June.
The Chase Freedom Flex Credit Card
The Chase Freedom Flex credit card is a great way to earn Ultimate Rewards points which can, ultimately, be used to travel for free.
Or, if cash back is your thing, it really couldn’t get any easier to earn 5% cash back. Just use your Freedom card in the quarterly bonus categories and bam! some easy cash back.
