And This is Why You Need to Jump on Deals Fast – A One Year HBO Max Subscription Was Effectively Free, Now It’s Only 1/3 Off

Earlier this morning, a deal was making the rounds in the money-saving community for a really nice savings opportunity on HBO Max annual subscriptions when two savings offers were stacked.

Don’t get excited, the really good deal is now dead. However, there is still a money-saving play if you’re interested. I’ll get to it in a second.

First the really good deal on HBO Max that was pulled when a lot of deal-seekers piled in.

HBO Max Dead Deal

The first part of this deal required taking advantage of an Amex Offer about which we wrote two weeks ago.

The Amex Offer – which should still be available – provided a $25 statement credit on a $99.99 or more HBO Max annual subscription purchase.

HBO Max annual subscriptions price at:

  • With Ads – $99.99
  • Ad-Free – 149.99

So, you’re savings 25% on an ad-supported annual subscription and around 17% on an ad-free subscription.

Not a bad savings.

But then the cash back earning site Top Cashback loaded a cash back offer earlier today that provided a 73.4% cash back rate on an HBO Max annual subscription.

That’s a huge savings.

And when stacked with the Amex Offer $25 statement credit, you would have almost been getting an ad-supported HBO Max annual subscription free.

Of course, when it comes to Top Cashback payouts, you do have to wait for the transaction to post to your Top Cashback account and then wait for Top Cashback to receive its payment from HBO Max. All told, that can take from a few weeks to sometimes as long as a few months.

So, you’d have to have “fronted” the $73.40 or $110 until Top Cashback showed the cash back as payable.

But, when looked at from an effective final price, the ad-supported HBO Max annual subscription would have been $1.59 and the ad-free subscription about $14.99 or the price of one month’s service.

Those are really good deals.

Unfortunately, the Top Cashback offer of 73.4% cash back is gone.

Which is a lesson from which to learn. If a deal comes along that piques your interest, jump on it sooner rather than later because there might not be a later for that deal.

Current HBO Max Savings Options

There is still a savings play for an annual HBO Max subscription, just not as good as the one that showed earlier today.

The Amex Offer $25 statement credit should still be on American Express cards – check your American Express account(s) and add it if it is.

Top Cashback is now offering $11 cash back on HBO Max purchases.

When these two money-saving offers are combined, you’ll save, obviously, $36 on whichever HBO Max annual subscription you choose.

Not bad, but nowhere close to the limited-time deal from earlier today.

And, keep in mind, this $11 cash back deal can change at any time.

If you’re new to Top Cashback, you can earn an extra $10 cash back when you earn $10 cash back on your new account – which the HBO Max deal would provide. And Savings Beagle will earn $10 for every new member who meets the cash back earned requirement.

Our referral link is below. Thank you if you use it.

Savings Beagle Top Cashback Referral Link

There may be a $30 new member sign-up offer available, though…check Google to see if a higher application link can be found…our link should only be for $10.

Once you have a Top Cashback account, click through the HBO Max cash back page and make your purchase (with the American Express card on which you’ve loaded the HBO Max Amex Offer).

And just like that, you’ll have save $36 on an HBO Max annual subscription.
