American: Mainland U.S. to Hawaii $475-$525 Roundtrip

American Airlines seems to be having a fare sale to compete against Delta at a few of Delta’s hubs.

The mainland U.S. departure airports showing these decent roundtrip fares are:

• Atlanta
• Detroit
• Minneapolis

And the Hawaii destinations are:

• Honolulu $475
• Kona $525
• Maui $525
• Kauai $525

As of now, fares appear to be valid from early January 2017 through late October 2017 per The Fare Deal Alert.  Of course, fares can change at any time, so if you’re in the market for a trip to Hawaii, book soon.

And for those interested in the miles earning/cost on American (ATL – HNL):

• Miles Flown: 8,997 or 5.2 cents per mile
• EQMs: 8,997
• Redeemable Miles: 1,995
