A Small Savings on the New HBO Max Streaming Service
|The soon-to-be-debuted HBO Max streaming service is offering a slight savings to subscribers who sign up now through May 27, 2020, the service’s launch date.
HBO Max Streaming Service
HBO Max is Home Box Office, Inc.’s latest offering to the streaming TV landscape.
Currently there are two ways to watch HBO content online:
HBO Go – a free streaming service for those who subscribe to HBO via a traditional cable/satellite service
HBO Now – a monthly subscription streaming service providing access to current and past HBO content
HBO Max will be similar to HBO Now, but with the addition of original content found only on the Max platform.
Additionally, the Friends series and The Big Bang Theory will also stream on the HBO Max service.
The HBO Max Promotion
HBO Max, once launched on May 27, 2020, will price at $14.99 per month.
This HBO Max pre-release promo will price the service at $11.99 per month for 12 months.
You can cancel anytime.
If you take advantage of the lower price deal, you’ll receive access to HBO Now upon enrollment and receive access to HBO Max on May 27, 2020.
This offer is for new subscribers and returning eligible HBO Now subscribers.
The discounted price promo is good now through May 27 at 2:59 am ET.
If you keep the discounted price subscription for the full 12-month period, you will automatically be charged $14.99 per month plus tax beginning month 13.
And, again, you can cancel at any time.

Our Thoughts
It’s always nice to find lower-priced options to watch the shows you want to see.
Yes, this is a discount of $3 per month, but I’m not sure it’s the absolute best deal you could find.
I do wonder if we’ll see any Amex Offers for HBO Max after it goes live May 27? It seems many streaming TV options have had decent Amex Offers to lower the monthly price…even if the Offers are for 2-3 months only.
I guess if you really enjoy HBO’s offerings – and especially its live TV shows – then this might be a deal to take advantage of.
But, if you’re like me, and only have a few shows you want to catch up on each year or so, then maybe waiting for an Amex Offer or extended free trial is the better way to go.
What do you think?
