A $112.50 Cash Back Offer on the AT&T TV Streaming Service via Rakuten

Rakuten, the cash back earning site, is offering $112.50 cash back when you subscribe to AT&T TV, AT&T’s live TV streaming service.

This is a really good deal, especially considering AT&T TV can now be subscribed to without a contract.

It does, for select features, still require an AT&T TV-specific streaming device. Pricing for the device is $5 per month for 24 months. You can also buy the device outright for $120 each.

Some customers may be required to buy the AT&T TV Device depending on credit history.

What’s not exactly clear is what features, specifically, you’ll miss out on if you only use compatible streaming devices/TVs to watch AT&T TV.

It might be not much. In which case, skip the AT&T device and use a Roku, Google Chromecast, Apple TV, Amazon Fire stick or a Samsung Smart TV. You can check the AT&T TV site for details on compatible streaming devices.

AT&T TV Packages and Pricing

I consider AT&T TV to be, loosely, a streaming version of DirecTV.

Its plans’ names are the same, just with fewer channels – likely due to not including the second and third-tier channels – at a somewhat higher monthly price. At least when compared to DirecTV’s first year (of a two-year contract) pricing.

You can view the channel lineup for each AT&T TV package at this link.

Below are AT&T TV’s plans and pricing. The Rakuten $112.50 cash back offer is available on the Entertainment, Choice, Max, Optimo Mas, XTRA and PLUS AT&T TV ULTIMATE products.

Entertainment Package – 65+ channels $69.99 per month (plus tax)

Choice Package – 90+ channels $84.99 per month (plus tax)

Ultimate Package – 130+ channels $94.99 per month (plus tax)

Premier Package – 140+ channels $139.99 per month (plus tax)

Interestingly, not all of the Rakuten deal listed packages show on the AT&T TV site.

And, as a different example, I’m not sure why the Premier package is not listed for the Rakuten deal. It might still qualify, but keep its exclusion in mind.

If you’re going for the Rakuten $112.50 cash back deal, I’d stick with the Entertainment, Choice or Ultimate packages just to be safe.

All packages include a Cloud DVR, but you’ll only receive 20 hours of storage unless you upgrade to the unlimited storage plan for $10 per month.

Here’s some fine print related to the AT&T TV service.

  • Compatible device required.
  • Residential U.S. customers only (excludes Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands).
  • Your AT&T TV service renews monthly at the prevailing rate, charged to your payment method on file unless you cancel.
  • Once you’ve canceled, you can access AT&T TV through the remaining monthly period.
  • New customers who cancel service in the first 14 days will receive a full refund. Otherwise, no refunds or credits for any partial-month periods or unwatched content
  • AT&T TV Device: AT&T TV device for well-qualified customers $5/mo. each for 24/mos. on 0% APR installment agreement; otherwise $120 each. Non-qualified customers must purchase devices up front. Purchased devices may be returned within 14 days for a full refund. Devices purchased on installment agreement subject to additional terms and conditions. See cancellation policy at att.com/help/cancellation-policy-att-tv.html for more details.
  • Regional Sports & Local Channels: Regional Sports available with CHOICE and above. Not available in select areas. Channels vary by package & billing region. Device may need to be in billing region in order to view. Limits: Offers may not be available through all channels and in select areas. Programming subject to blackout restrictions.

If you’re new to Rakuten, you can sign-up using our referral link below and after you spend $30 or more at Rakuten partner retailers – this AT&T TV deal would more than cover that – you’ll earn $30 cash back. That’s in addition to the cash back you’ll earn on your purchase(s) – $112.50 in the case of this AT&T TV deal.

So, new Rakuten members signing up and taking advantage of the AT&T TV deal would receive a total of $142.50 cash back.

Savings Beagle Rakuten Referral Link

Once you’re a Rakuten member, simply search for AT&T TV and click through that link to subscribe.

This $112.50 cash back deal is likely for a limited time – not sure exactly how long that will be – so take advantage of it sooner, rather than later, if you’re interested.

Rakuten and How It Works

Joining Rakuten really has no downside. And it’s a financial benefit for everyone…especially now with the increased $30 referral bonus and this $112.50 AT&T TV deal.

For those new to Rakuten, here are a few things of which to be aware.

Signing up for a Rakuten account is quick and easy – limited information is needed, and can be completed in a few minutes or less.

Once your account is set up, simply make sure you’re signed in to your Rakuten account, click through the Rakuten site to your desired retailer (you’ll be automatically directed to the retailer’s website) and make your purchase.

By clicking through the Rakuten site first, your purchases will be registered with Rakuten, and the appropriate cash back/points based on the amount spent will be credited to your Rakuten account.

It may take a week or so for the credited amount to appear in your account.  And payments are made quarterly, so any cash back/points accrued during the current quarter will be held until payment is disbursed at Rakuten’s pre-determined payment times.

If you prefer to earn American Express Membership Rewards points instead of cash back, you can do that at Rakuten, too.

Wrap Up

If you’ve considered trying the AT&T TV streaming service, now might be the time to sign up.

This Rakuten $112.50 cash back deal makes the first month effectively free. Add in Rakuten’s new member sign-up bonus of $30 and that’s a nice amount of cash back.

Of course, you won’t see that money until Rakuten’s next quarterly payout period. But, still, that’s a nice chunk of change you otherwise would not have received just for taking advantage of Rakuten and this AT&T TV deal.

If you are, or have been, an AT&T TV streaming subscriber, let us know your thoughts on the service. Is it worth it? What are the pros? Cons?

No matter, it still might be worth using this cash back deal for one month of service and then canceling. Depending on the plan you sign-up for, it likely would be a money-maker.
