Specifically, the 1,000 bonus United miles applies to “New Groupon customers whose first purchase on Groupon is a Local offer that is $30 or greater before taxes.”
Not a new user to Groupon? Don’t despair, the United/Groupon relationship means ongoing spend on Groupon deals will earn a certain number of miles per dollar spent based on the deal(s) purchased.
Here’s how spend on Groupon will equate to United miles earned.
- Groupon Local deals – Earn 5 United MileagePlus miles per dollar spent
- Groupon Getaways deals – Earn 4 United MileagePlus miles per dollar spent
- Groupon Goods deals – Earn 3 United MileagePlus miles per dollar spent
Amounts spent on taxes, shipping, and other fees do not qualify for miles earning.
And, select deals and items will be excluded from mileage earning. If the fine print of a deal or item states the deal or item is not eligible for promo codes or discounts, it is not eligible to earn United miles.
