Chase Freedom Credit Card Now Offering Gold Status with Fuel Rewards

Chase and Fuel Rewards have teamed up to offer Freedom cardholders Fuel Rewards Gold Status through the end of 2018.

If you’re not familiar, Fuel Rewards provides discounts on gasoline purchases at participating Shell gas stations.

Gold Status with Fuel Rewards gives members 5 cents off per gallon of gas up to 20 gallons per fill up.

Once you’ve signed up for the Fuel Rewards program, simply enter your Alt Id at the pump and your per gallon savings will automatically appear.

Additional per gallon savings can be had when you link to dining, shopping or other programs.  Although, for Miles and Points enthusiasts, better returns can be found when using an airline or hotel linked dining or shopping program.

The last three months of your Gold Status (Oct. – Dec. 2018) will be your Qualification Period for continued Gold Status.  To maintain Gold Status into 2019 you must make six qualifying fuel purchases during the Qualification Period to retain Gold Status, and the 5 cents per gallon savings, for the following 3 months.

Wrap Up

This is an easy way to save 5 cents per gallon of gas at Shell gas stations.

If you don’t have any Shell gas stations nearby, though, then this deal isn’t for you.

Or, say, you get better rewards from a grocery store linked gas program, then a pass might be in order.

But, if a Shell station is just around the corner and you’re not saving anything on your gasoline purchases, then jump on this free offer.
