My Thoughts and More Details
Fairmont Hotel Packages
There are two Fairmont hotel packages to choose from on the first day of this final travel deals week.
The first is a deal for six 1-night “Ovation Rewards” certificates that can be used in combination for a six-night stay, or for separate reservations. Each certificate includes a stay at your choice of the following Fairmont properties:
- The Fairmont Kea Lani, Maui (an all-suites hotel)
- The Fairmont Orchid, Hawaii
Each certificate includes breakfast for two people each morning in the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant.
Price: $2,178
Availability: 10
Purchase Limit: 1
It’s nice that you don’t have to use all 6 nights on the same reservation. The ability to break up the stay between the two properties, or for different trips altogether, provides travel flexibility.
A quick look at a six-night reservation at the Fairmont Kea Lani, October 1-7, in a mountainside room with breakfast for two each day shows a total price of $3,995.52.
Which makes the Fairmont Hawaii Daily Getaways deal a real deal.
The second Fairmont deal is for 3 nights at the Fairmont San Francisco.
Like the previous Fairmont deal, you’ll receive three 1-night Ovation Rewards certificates that can be used in combination for a three-night stay, or for separate reservations at the Fairmont San Francisco. Each night (certificate) includes breakfast for two and there is no expiration date for the certificates.
Price: $834
Availability: 10
Purchase Limit: 1
A 3-night stay at the Fairmont San Francisco July 20-23 in a standard Fairmont room with breakfast for 2 included prices at $1,824.30.
Again, purchasing the Daily Getaways deal would save you almost $1,000 on that specific reservation. That’s a pretty good deal, I’d say.
Hertz Rental Car Packages
There are three Hertz rental car packages available on Tuesday. They include:
- One week Hertz rental – standard vehicle. The rental comes in the form of Hertz Gold Plus Rewards points – 5,500 – deposited to your account. If you do not already have a Hertz Gold Plus Rewards account set up, you’ll need to do that prior to purchase. Creating an account is fairly easy and free. Price: $280 Available: 45
- Four-day weekend Prestige Collection rental. You’ll receive 13,200 Hertz Gold Plus Rewards points that can be redeemed toward a Prestige Collection vehicle. Price: $560 Available: 35
- One week Hertz Prestige Collection rental. 16,500 Hertz Gold Plus Rewards points redeemable for a one-week Prestige Collection rental will be deposited into your rewards account. Price: $698 Available: 50
You are limited to purchasing one set of points from each offer per Hertz member number, and a total of three sets of points across all Hertz offers.
While not expressly stated, you likely can use the purchased/deposited points in any way you please. If you purchase the 1-week Prestige rental deal, but would rather get 3-weeks of a standard vehicle, that should be permitted.
Hyatt Points
There’s a reason this deal is always saved for last. Just as with a 4th of July fireworks display, the grand finale – the most awe-inspiring, exciting and spectacular display – comes at the very end.
And thus, the same applies to the Daily Getaways’ Hyatt points deals.
Hyatt points are, in my opinion (and many others’), the most valuable hotel rewards points currently offered. Incredible value can be gotten from Hyatt Gold Passport points – whether it’s 5,000 points per night for a stay at a very nice and comfortable Hyatt Place property, or 30,000 points per night at one of the chain’s highest tier, aspirational properties – you will not be disappointed with your experience.
The problem…so many people know the value of Hyatt points that grabbing one of these deals is close to impossible. Even though I mention this at the end of every Daily Getaways recap post, it’s more true for this deal than any other…if you don’t click the “Buy Now” button right at 1:00 p.m. this Wednesday, you will not get this deal. And even then it’s a roll of the dice.
All of these deals will be sold out in the first few seconds. The only question is, will you be one of the lucky ones to have your click beat out all the others.
Pick your desired Hyatt points deal from the offers listed and get ready to click:
- 24,000 Hyatt points. Price: $260 Available: 120
- 30,000 Hyatt points. Price: $330 Available: 54
- 40,000 Hyatt points. Price: $415 Available: 30
- 72,000 Hyatt points. Price: $775 Available: 25
Even though the deals are listed as a specific number of nights in a certain level of Hyatt Hotel, it’s really just a specific number of Hyatt points that will be deposited into your World of Hyatt account for use any way you please.
You must have a World of Hyatt account set up before purchasing.
You are limited to one set of points per offer per World of Hyatt membership number. A max of 4 sets of points is allowed per membership number across all Hyatt points deals. Good luck getting that done.
DAILY GETAWAYS INS AND OUTS
All Daily Getaways deals go on sale at 1:00 pm ET the day they are listed.
I’ve noted the quantities available next to each deal – they’re also listed on an individual deal’s page on the Daily Getaways calendar. For popular deals, they will go quickly, so be ready to click the “Buy Now” button right at 1:00 pm.
Actually, if there is any deal in which you’re interested, just to be safe I’d be ready to buy right at 1:00 pm when the deal opens.
As with anything in life, the details matter, so for deals you’re interested in, be sure to look at the fine print…it’s listed on each individual deal at the Daily Getaways site.
So, scope out the deals that interest you for this week, set your cell phone alarm for 12:50 pm the day of the deal and get ready to buy!
Unfortunately, we’ve come to the end of this year’s U.S. Travel Association’s Daily Getaways promotion.
It’s been fun. Hope you’ve enjoyed the deal posts, and were able to grab a few travel savings opportunities this time around.
If you did, let us know in the comments section. Hearing your savings successes is always appreciated.
Until next year, here’s hoping your travel adventures are all you want them to be.
