Visa Cardholders Can Receive Free Shipt Memberships

Visa and the shopping and delivery service, Shipt, have teamed to offer Visa cardholders free Shipt memberships.

The length of the free membership is dependent on the type of Visa card you have.

Visa Infinite cardholders can receive a 3-year Shipt membership
Visa Signature cardholders can receive a 3-month Shipt membership followed by 9-months at 50% off Shipt’s regular price
Visa (all other Visa consumer credit cards) cardholders can receive a 1-month Shipt membership followed by 3-months at 50% off Shipt’s regular price

Shipt regularly prices at $99 per year. Monthly membership fees are $14.

Visa Infinite cards typically come with a high annual fee – $400-$600 range – so you likely know if you have a Visa Infinite card. If not, “Infinite” should be imprinted somewhere near the Visa name on the card. The Chase Sapphire Reserve card is an example of a Visa Infinite.

Visa Signature cards are a little more prevalent, with more reasonable annual fees. They also should have the “Signature” designation imprinted on the card. The Chase Sapphire Preferred is one example of a Visa Signature.

All other Visa cards will have the name Visa on them, obviously.

Shipt

Shipt is a shopping/delivery service owned by the Target Corporation.

Initially, its focus was shopping at and delivering from Target stores.

It’s now branched out to shopping and delivering from a variety of retailers, a few of which include:

Costco
Bed Bath and Beyond
Meijer
HEB
CVS
Petco
and more

To see which retailers are available to you via the Shipt service, you’ll need to input your zip code at this link.

A Shipt membership includes waived delivery fees on orders $35 or more. Orders less than $35 will incur a $7 delivery fee.

And, typically, prices for products shopped and delivered by Shipt will be slightly higher than if you shopped in-store yourself.

And don’t forget to tip your shopper/delivery person.

Convenience comes with a price.

So, Shipt, even with this promo, may not be for those looking to save money.

Shipt/Visa Free Membership Promotion

The credit card number you provide will determine which free membership you’re eligible for. So, if you have multiple Visa cards, be sure to use the Visa that provides the longest free membership period.

Once your Visa card is confirmed as eligible, you’ll be asked to enroll in the promotion.

The free membership will begin on the date you enroll.

Here are the promotion’s terms no matter which Visa card you hold.

Offer valid from 9/17/2021 through 12/31/2024.
Promo offer includes waived delivery fees on orders over $35 and is only redeemable through Shipt web application at shipt.com or the Shipt mobile app.
Your membership will begin on the date that you enroll your eligible Visa consumer credit card to your Shipt account.
Existing Shipt members that enroll in the Offer start their free membership at the expiration of their current paid membership.
Cancellation of an existing Shipt membership will result in Offer ineligibility.
Enrolled cardholders must use the Card as the default payment method to redeem, have Offer remain effective, and have Offer apply, or may be subject to additional fees.
Eligibility for Offer is limited to one per person per Shipt account, and per eligible Visa card.
Payment through third-party payment accounts, or online or mobile digital wallets (like Apple Pay and Google Pay), or memberships purchased through third parties are excluded from this offer.
You can cancel your membership at any time at shipt.com.

Wrap Up

Visa and the shopping/delivery service Shipt have teamed to offer Visa cardholders free Shipt memberships, the length of which is determined by the Visa card you hold and use to enroll.

For those who utilize shopping and delivery services – especially if you use Shipt currently – this is a decent promotion.

Just be aware of the promo’s terms if you currently have a Shipt membership (you don’t want to cancel to take advantage of this promo).

But you can add the promo to the end of a current Shipt membership.

I haven’t personally used Shipt, but I’ve heard positive things about it. The only downside…and it’s the case with any of these shopping/delivery services…is that it’s usually not a money-saver, especially when you factor in the tipping that should be included.

But if you value time saved, this is a deal to consider.
