Daily Getaways Travel Deals – Week Five
|The Fifth and final (partial) week of the U.S. Travel Association’s Daily Getaways begins tomorrow, May 2, 2016.
Here’s the rundown of this final week’s offerings:
Monday
Avis car rental and club membership
Tuesday
Marriott eGift Cards
Wednesday
Las Vegas Hotels/Packages
MY THOUGHTS AND MORE DETAILS
Avis Car Rental and Club Membership
- 1 Avis Chairman’s Club membership $1,115 (15 Available)
- One-day car rental $30 (700 Available)
If you’re a frequent user of Avis, the Chairman’s Club membership may be of benefit. Some of the perks include: streamlined travel and personalized service from the airport to your car and back with complimentary car delivery, meet-and-greet service, upgrades, and personal return valet service (Avis representative will meet/escort you to waiting car and upon return, take you to departure terminal).
The one-day car rental may also prove valuable, depending on the dates/locations of the rental.
Marriott eGift Cards
- $100 Marriott eGift Card for $80 (1070 Available)
- $250 Marriot eGift Card for $200 (252 Available)
- $500 Marriott eGift Card for $400 (200 Available)
These Marriott eGift card deals are fairly straightforward and self-explanatory. You save the difference between the card’s value and the deal’s purchase price. The eGift cards can then be used for payment toward stays and incidentals (spa treatments, dining, golf, etc.) while staying at a Marriott property – or even if you’re not staying at a Marriott property. Say a Marriott near your home has a really nice restaurant – you can use the eGift card to pay for a dinner out at a slightly reduced amount.
The eGift cards are cash that can be used at both Marriott and Ritz Carlton properties and do not have an expiration date.
- 3 nights in a Bellagio Suite – 2 tickets to “O”, spa treatments and dinner for $2,000 (9 Available)
- 2 nights in a Skyline Marquee Suite at the MGM Grand – massages, 2 tickets for KA and dinner $1,545 (8 Available)
- 3 night stay for 2 guests at the Delano – tickets to Cirque du Soleil show, dinners, massage $1,750 (8 Available)
- 4 nights in a Tower Deluxe Room at Luxor – 2 VIP tickets to Blue Man Group, $400 food and beverage credit for Luxor restaurants $500 (8 Available)
- 3 nights at Circus Circus, dinner and passes to the Adventuredome Theme Park for 2 $150 (8 Available)
As with my previous descriptions of Las Vegas package offerings, you’ll be able to wring some value out of any of these deals. You just need to make sure for your specific travel dates the room prices will be more than you spent on the deal, and that you’ll actually use the amenities associated with whichever package you choose.
Las Vegas was featured prominently in this year’s Daily Getaways. There’s good reason for that– Las Vegas is just a fun place to visit. Lots to do and the hotels can be something to see in themselves…well, most of them.
So if pricing on one of these packages fits within your budget, go for it, you’ll definitely have a great time.
DAILY GETAWAYS INS AND OUTS
My typical Daily Getaways post reminders go as follows:
All deals go on sale at 1:00 pm ET the day they are listed.
I’ve noted the quantities available next to each deal – they’re also listed on an individual deal’s page on the Daily Getaways calendar. For popular deals, they will go quickly, so be ready to click the “Buy Now” button right at 1:00 pm.
Actually, if there is any deal in which you’re interested, just to be safe I’d be ready to buy right at 1:00 pm when the deal opens.
As with anything in life, the details matter, so for deals you’re interested in, be sure to look at the fine print…it’s listed on each individual deal at the Daily Getaways site.
So, scope out the deals that interest you for this final week, set your cell phone alarm for 12:50 pm the day of the deal and get ready to buy!
This has been a good year for the U.S. Travel Association’s Daily Getaways – especially so if you’re a fan of Las Vegas. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end, and, thus, Wednesday marks the final day of this year’s Getaways.
Hopefully you were able to grab a deal or two that will add some excitement (at a reduced cost) to your upcoming travel adventures.
See you next spring when we’ll do this all over again.
