All Chase Freedom Cards Earning 5% Back at Gas Stations February 2021

Chase has added a bonus category to its Freedom card lineup for February.

All Chase Freedom cards – Freedom, Freedom Flex, and the Freedom Unlimited – will earn 5% total cash back on up to $150 in combined purchases made with your Chase Freedom card at gas stations from 2/1/21 to 2/28/21.

You must activate this specific offer prior to February 28, 2021, to have your gas station purchases earn the bonus cash back/ Ultimate Rewards points.

As with any Chase Freedom bonus category, prior purchases in the bonus category will earn the bonus amount as long as activation is done prior to the activation deadline date.

We’ve seen Chase add a bonus category mid-stream before within the last year. Not sure if it’s pandemic related or a way to boost card usage, but the more purchases that earn 5%/5x the better in my book.

So, activate the gas station bonus category on your Freedom card and be sure to actually use it during your next stop. Too bad I just filled up yesterday!
