Save $15 Off Your Amazon Purchase of $50 or More with This Chase Credit Card Deal

Amazon and Chase are out with a $15 off $50 savings deal on select Amazon purchases when at least 1 Ultimate Rewards point is used to pay.

This is a continuation of a promo that was initially offered the end of July. It appears it’s been extended with, potentially, more accounts being targeted with the savings offer.

If you know how these Amazon/credit card savings deals work, below is the link to see if your Amazon account has been targeted.

If you’re not familiar with how these savings deals work, or need a refresher, read on.

Chase Credit Card / Amazon Deals

You’ll need to have one of the following Chase Ultimate Rewards earning credit cards to take advantage of this deal.

The following Chase credit cards, once added to your Amazon Wallet and enrolled in the Shop with Points program, may make this deal available to you.

Chase Ultimate Rewards Earning Cards

  • Chase Freedom
  • Chase Freedom Flex
  • Chase Freedom Unlimited
  • Chase Sapphire Preferred
  • Chase Sapphire Reserve

Unfortunately, as has been the case with previous deals like these, availability for any one card holder is very hit or miss.  Some are targeted, while others are shown no love when they click the activation page link, instead seeing the dreaded “Thank you for your interest in this offer. Unfortunately, you are not eligible for this invitation-only offer” message.

If you aren’t targeted initially, you may find that’s changed in a few days or weeks. Keep checking periodically to see if the Amazon/Chase deal has been added to your Amazon account.

If you still don’t see availability, try the trick below.

Sometimes removing a credit card from your Amazon Wallet, adding it back, re-enrolling it in Shop with Points and checking availability the next day will result in the deal becoming available.  Sometimes not.  But it’s worth a try if this deal is of interest.

Now on to the deal.

Chase Ultimate Rewards/Amazon Deal

The Chase / Amazon deal requires a Chase Ultimate Rewards points earning credit card be added as a payment method to your Amazon Wallet and enrolled in Amazon’s Shop with Points.

The deal provides $15 off a purchase of $50 or more of eligible products sold and shipped by Amazon.com.  With most of these deals, the items purchased MUST be sold and shipped by Amazon.  You can check a product’s purchase page for that specific language.

How to take advantage of this deal.

  • Click the “Activate now” button on the promotion activation page
  • Add $50 or more of eligible products sold and shipped by Amazon
  • Select your Chase Ultimate Rewards earning credit card as your payment method and use a portion of Ultimate Rewards points to pay. Less is usually better when trying to maximize the value of your UR points…$0.01 for example…however, the amount of points you want to use is completely up to you.
  • $15 of savings will be reflected on the final order page

This promotion is set to end on the earlier of 11:59 p.m. PT on 11/15/2020, or the time at which 66,667 customers have redeemed the offer.

Here are the Terms and Conditions if you want to read the details.

Suggested Uses

Obviously, if you’ve been targeted for this money-saving promo, you can use it on any product you want as long as it’s “shipped and sold by Amazon.com.”

If you don’t have a purchase in mind, here are a few ways I’ve utilized these credit card / Amazon deals in the past.

First, I’ve used them to stock up on household essentials. Paper towels, toilet paper, cleaning supplies, etc., most of the major brands are “sold and shipped by Amazon.com,” making those purchases eligible for the $15 savings.

Second, digital gift cards to third-party retailers fall into a category that typically triggers the Amazon/credit card savings offer.

I’ve purchased Netflix gift cards in the exact amount of the deal’s minimum spend and saved the corresponding amount on the purchase. Effectively saving that amount…in this case $15…on my Netflix subscription costs (roughly one month free).

These are just two suggestions on ways to utilize this savings deal if you don’t have a purchase in mind.

Chase Credit Cards

And if you don’t have one of the Chase Freedom credit cards, there is a fantastic sign-up deal going on right now…summer 2020…that just might be of interest.

New cardholders will receive a $200 cash back bonus after spending $500 in the first 3 months and you’ll earn 5% cash back/5 Ultimate Rewards points per dollar spent on purchases at grocery stores the first year up to $12,000 in grocery purchases.

You can get more details in our post “Chase Freedom Credit Cards Currently Offering a Really Enticing Sign-Up Bonus.”

You likely wouldn’t be able to use a newly acquired Freedom card to take advantage of this Amazon / Chase deal, but you’d have it, and a nice stash of Ultimate Rewards points, available for future promotions.
