Pull That Chase Freedom Card Out, the New Bonus Quarter Has Begun
The 2020 first quarter bonus categories for the Chase Freedom credit card are now active.
Bonus Categories
Freedom’s first quarter bonus categories include:
- Gas Stations
- Select Streaming Services
- Internet, Cable and Phone Services
All purchases made in these categories earn 5% cash back – or my favorite, 5 Ultimate Rewards points per dollar spent – on up to $1,500 in combined purchases.
Bonus earning in the bonus categories begins today, January 1, 2020, and run through March 31, 2020.

While there definitely are better categories, especially if you also hold the Chase Ink Cash card, for the typical Freedom card holder, these categories will definitely earn a nice chunk of cash back/Ultimate Rewards points.

So pull that Freedom card out, set it as your payment method for your cell/home phone service, Internet and cable service, as well as any of the qualifying streaming services to which you subscribe and earn some cash back/points! Oh, and use it to fill your gas tank, too.
