Chase Freedom’s 2016 4th Quarter Bonus Categories Announced

Today, Chase announced the Freedom credit card’s 2016 4th quarter bonus categories.  Beginning October 1, 2016, spend at department stores, wholesale clubs (Sam’s Club, Costco, BJ’s, etc.) and drug stores will earn 5x points (or 5% cash back) on up to $1,500 in purchases made with your Chase Freedom credit card.

To receive the 5x points (5% cash back) per dollar spent, you will need to activate this quarter’s bonus on your card. Activation can be done today, through December 14th, at this link.

Earning the 5x bonus this quarter should be pretty easy.  If you do any sort of shopping and/or entertaining for the holidays, it will be a snap to rack up a significant amount of spend at department stores and/or the wholesale clubs.  And, many drug stores sell a variety of gift cards that can be used as holiday gifts or future spend for yourself.

Planning a future purchase at Home Depot?  Get a Home Depot gift card from a wholesale club or drug store and earn 5x on that Home Depot purchase.  Or purchase gasoline gift cards and earn 5x on filling up your car.  The options to earn 5x are limited only by the gift cards sold at your local wholesale club and drug stores.
